Home page.
- The home page of your
website creates the all important first impression. You are likely to want to
include your logo and name as well as links to other pages. If you have a
single page website the home page is likely to have more text and information
than the home page of a larger website.
Contact Us
- The contact us page
provides various contact details such as names, addresses, fax numbers,
telephone numbers and e-mail addresses and may incorporate an enquiry form. You
may also want to include a map and directions for example..
About Us
- The about us page
provides an insight into your company/services. You may choose to have photos
of your employees, mission statement, logos, a synopsis of your services and
what can be found on your website including where/who more information may be
obtained from.
Links.
- The links page
provides links to external websites which may be of interest to your website
visitors and provides pointers to information sources. It is also possible to
have a reciprocal link function. This allows visitors to link from your website
to yours and vice versa which can be mutually beneficial.

Terms & Conditions
- A page which outlines
your terms and conditions is particularly important if you are using your
website to sell goods/services.
Search.
- It may be desirable
to have a search page to give guidance about how to use your search facility as
well as having a search box. Alternatively some websites have just a search box
on the home page for example or on all their pages. Your search may be limited
to one aspect of the site content eg. newsletters or the entire content of the
whole site.
Events
- An events page could
report on the success of previous events and publicise forthcoming events. If
you run seminars or workshops, application/booking forms for example could be
provided for visitors to download. If appropriate your visitors may also want
to e-mail or post you details of their own to be advertised. It may be
desirable to have a calendar of forthcoming activities.
Recruitment
- A recruitment page
could be used to provide information about working for your organisation,
training available and so on and contact details. Vacant positions could be
advertised, if there were a sufficient number of vacancies job opportunities
could be in a searchable database.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
- An FAQ page consists
of a list of Frequently Asked Questions with answers provided, the purpose of which
is to assist the visitor and provide information.
Newsletters/Fact sheets.
- If you have regular
newsletters or a series of fact sheets for example which you want to make
available to your on-line visitors a page can be set up to allow a visitor to
view and/or download the information eg. as PDF (Portable Document Format)
files or Word documents onto their own PC. This feature could be open to all
visitors free of charge or if for instance a charge or registration would be
required it could be part of a membership log in system.
Competitions / win page
- If you have prizes to
give away or free goodies for your website visitors to win your website can
have a competitions page. Offering prizes can be an incentive for return visits
from people.
In addition to or instead of a win page you could have a special offers or
'offer of the month' page.
